But for those of you who are Pikmin fans, you have new game to look forward to this summer: Pikmin 2.
There are now five types of Pikmin: Yellow, White, Purple, Blue, and Red |
According to IGN, "This second game in the Pikmin franchise improves and expands on the real-time fun offered in the first. In Pikmin 2, Captain Olimar returns to the planet he was originally stranded on, to collect trinkets for his dailing company to see back at home."
The game supports a new two player co-op, which "allows players to switch between two spacemen while collecting items. Along with the new playable character, two new Pikmin types have been included -- large hulking purple Pikmin, and small and feisty white Pikmin. Two-player co-op challenge missions and a competitive mode are also available" (IGN). You can command up to 100 Pikmin at a time to carry, follow, and fight for you as you race to find the items you need.
This Real-Time Strategy game was published by Nintendo and developed by Nintendo EAD, and will be in stores on June 10, 2012.
DISCLAIMER!: Pikmin 2 has been rated E for Everyone for the ESRB for Comic Mischief, Mild Violence.
If you've played Pikmin before, which Pikmin is your favorite?

I have been waiting for this to be updated to the "New Play Control!" for Wii. I think I played this around 10 years ago but I do not really remember which color Pikmin I liked the most. Thanks for the update, I will be buying this. :)

ReplyDeleteI don't mean to burst your bubble, Edessa, but Pikmin 2 came out in 2004.

I don't know where you got your info from on this, but they are going to announce Pikmin 3 at E3 this year.

Yes, "Pikmin 2" did come out in 2004, but this is an updated version of that game made specifically for the Nintendo Wii. Sorry if I didn't make that clearer in the post! :D
