I mean literally nothing!
I could talk about school and homework, I suppose, but I do that every other day of the week.
And I guess I could talk about what I did today, except I didn't really do anything but homework and go to Target to pick up plates for Ahsoka's birthday party.
Maybe I could rant on and on about the unfortunate fact that Target (or at least my Target) doesn't sell SWTOR game cards, but I really don't have much to say other than "they really, really should sell those cards!"
And some of you are probably wondering what I thought about the Clone Wars Season 5 premiere, but remember that I'm putting my opinions on that stuff in podcast form, so it will be a few days before I have it up and running.
So I guess that leaves me with talking about some great music I've been listening to lately.
For those of you who don't know, my favorite genre of music is soundtrack. There's just something so amazing about soundtracks, something that I can't really put my finger on. Even if I've never seen a certain movie, if it has a good soundtrack then the music alone can transport me deeper into my Imaginatrix, the place where all of my ideas are created, stored, revised, and completed. And soundtracks - good soundtracks - can get my creative juices going better than anything else. It's like the ultimate creative catalyst!
When I want to get myself into writing my book, I turn to the Star Wars or Lord of the Rings soundtracks.
When I want to get myself into writing my screenplay, I turn to The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
Even when I want to focus on my homework, my go-to music is the "Introduce a Little Anarchy" track from The Dark Knight soundtrack.
And when I just want to get lost in my dream world, I have practically a whole playlist of songs to run through.
Honestly, I love music so much that it feels weird when there's no song playing in the background. There's just something so wonderful about music that I would seriously just sit down all day and do nothing but listen to song after song after song after song.
Is that obssession, I wonder?
Anyway, here are some of my favorite songs and when I listen to them.
Film: X-Men: First Class
When: I listen to this track when I'm writing an action scene and I want it to sound epic, or when I'm bored and I want an adrenalin rush.
Film: X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Film: The Dark Knight Rises

When: When I'm writing a scene with an awesome villain.
Film: Avatar

Film: Inception
When: Whenever I feel like rocking out or doing nothing but listen to music.
Film: Prince of Persia
When: Whenever I'm writing a quick battle scene, like a geurilla attack or something. Or something with assassins.

When: When I'm writing science fiction in general.
Film: Robin Hood
When: When I'm writing something in a medieval setting.
Film: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

When: When I'm writing a scene with two characters who love each other.
Film: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
When: When I'm in a pirate mood (of course!).
Film: Batman Begins
When: Battle scenes, when I'm in the mood for epicness, really anything.
Film: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
When: When I'm in the mood for happy and carefree.
Film: The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
When: When I'm in a happy mood, and for writing endings to my stories.
Game: Battlefield 3
When: When I'm writing scenes with soldiers.
Film: National Treasure
When: Action scenes, when I'm in the mood for epicness, when I'm bored, basically whenever.
And those are just a handful of my favorites. I would include all of my favorite tracks, but then this post would be extremely insanely long. =)
But what are some of your favorite soundtracks? Do you like soundtrack music, or do you have another favorite genre?
- Edessa, signing off
I like classic rock, Christian rock, and soundtrack the same. My favorite songs are Star Wars main theme, MASH theme, Inspector Gadget Theme, Doctor Who theme, Superman theme, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and about a hundred more.
ReplyDeleteFinally some one who also likes X-Men: First Class' soundtrack, it is one of my favorite and one of the most underrated. I have a very similar opinion of soundtracks as well, I just do not listen to anything other than soundtracks 99% of the time. I write so much better while listening to soundtracks. Excellent choice of music, many of these are my favorite.

i like rock, soundtrack, and Owl City. (not sure what genre that'd be) personally,i think Wade Goes to Work, End of the Line, Mombassa, and ,like ,everything else was totally epic!
ReplyDelete*grins* Thanks Edessa. Now I don't have to go to like 20 different links for my favorite soundtracks. =P
ReplyDeleteI have a very wide music taste. I can rock out to heavy metal and roll with classical music. My favorite soundtrack is probably Star Wars and Iron Man (the first soundtrack)...I used to love TRON, but then I got sick of it. =P
